Academic word list #3

The sublist#3 is more difficult than last two. I spent plenty of time memorizing those new vocabularys and even though I memorized all of them for twice, I still didn't do very well on the exercises of sublist#3; therefore, I study again and again. The following are synonyms of vocabularys which are hard to memorize for me in sublist#3 :

alternative: choice, substitute, replacement
compensate: pay, reward, balance
demonstrate: dispaly, manifest, show, illustrate
dominate: control, rule, command
illustrate: clarify, explen, show, demonstrate
justify: legalize, rationalize/prove, explain/defend, sustain,maintain
negate: negative, cancel
react: respond, answer, reply
sufficient: enough, plenty. adequate
proportion: ratio, amount, balance, percentage, measure
